- are nouns that can be counted: a man, two apples, five pens, ten hoops.
- are nouns that cannot be counted: water, oil, hair, sand, salt.
For countable nouns, we can use "a few" and "many" :
e.g : There are afew books inthe bag.
Amelia has many toys.
For uncountable nouns, we use 'a little' and 'much' :
e.g : My mother uses a little oil to cook.
There isn't much rice left in the pot.
However, we can use 'some' and 'a lot of ' for both countable and uncountable nouns:
e.g : My sister bought some apples from the market.
There is a lot of food in the canteen.
